Description
We are on northwest Isla Cristobal, directly facing Almirante. Today, at about 1:00 PM, a very nice looking red and white motorboat (looks like a custom model, not a typical Bocas panga), with a red canopy came in past our navigation buoy and started approaching our dock. It contained 4 youngish looking men wearing what looked like white net T-shirts. The motor was quiet and appeared to be a 4 stroke. As they approached our dock, our dogs started barking very loudly (as they always do when boats come near). The boat sped away as soon as the dogs started barking (I didn't see which direction as I had gone to my bedroom to grab my phone and camera before going down to see what they wanted).
Another Bocas property owner reports that a similar boat with similar occupants was cruising around in front of their property on Shepherd Island on two consecutive days about 3 weeks ago.
If anyone recognizes this boat by the description and is either the owner or knows who the owner is, please comment or email me privately if you don't want to comment.
There could be an innocent explanation, of course. These people could have been lost or confused. On the other hand, they could be bad guys "casing" our and other people's properties to see who is home, to plan a burglary or robbery. Or they could be thugs from Chicago looking for attractive properties to steal...
